Three-Stage Exam Pattern
Stage 1 — Prelims (Screening)
GS Paper I (Merit): 100 MCQs, 200 marks, 2 hours। History, geography, polity, economy, environment, science, current affairs। Cutoff ~90–110/200 (general)। Negative: 1/3 per wrong।
CSAT Paper II (Qualifying): 80 MCQs, 200 marks, 2 hours। Comprehension, reasoning, basic math। Minimum 33% (66 marks) — marks merit में नहीं। हज़ारों fail CSAT annually — ignore mat करें।
Stage 2 — Mains (Merit — 1750 Marks)
- Qualifying: Indian Language (300M) + English (300M) — 25% each
- Essay: 250 marks — 2 essays, philosophical + contemporary
- GS I–IV: 250 marks each — Heritage, Polity+IR, Economy+Environment+Security, Ethics
- Optional: 2 papers, 250 marks each — 48 subjects (500 marks total = 28% of merit)

Stage 3 — Interview (275 Marks)
