Officer Entry Routes: कौन सा Path आपके लिए?
- NDA (after 12th): 4-year training — 3 years NDA Khadakwasla + 1 year IMA/INA/AFA → Commissioned Officer
- CDS (after graduation): 18-month academy training → Direct commission
- AFCAT: Air Force specific — Flying, Ground Duty, Technical (graduation required)
- INET: Indian Navy graduate entry — separate exam
- TES (10+2 Tech Entry Scheme): Army engineering officers — PCM in 12th
- ACC: Serving jawans → officer (Army only)
NDA = younger entry, longer bonding, pan-India camaraderie। CDS = faster commission, graduation maturity advantage।

Eligibility
- Army wing: 12th pass — any stream
- Navy/Air Force: 12th with Physics + Mathematics (60% recommended)
- Age: 16.5 – 19.5 years | Gender: Male + Female (since 2022)

- Physical: Height 157 cm (Army), 162.5 cm (Air Force) | Eyesight 6/6 or 6/9

- IMA (Army): Any graduation | Age 19–24 | Unmarried M/F
- INA (Navy): B.E./B.Tech or B.Sc. (PCM at 12th) | Age 19–24
- AFA (Air Force): B.E./B.Tech or grad + PCM at 12th | Age 20–24 (Flying)
- OTA (SSC): Any graduation | Age 19–25 | Married allowed | 10-year service

CDS Written Pattern
- IMA/INA/AFA: English (100) + GK (100) + Maths (100) = 300 marks
- OTA: English + GK only = 200 marks (no Maths)
- SSB: 300 marks | Negative: 1/3 per wrong (written)

NDA Mathematics (300 marks)
- Algebra, trigonometry, matrices, calculus, probability, vectors
- Level: Class 11–12 NCERT — JEE Main foundation
- 120 questions, 2.5 hours | Cutoff: ~25–30%
NDA GAT (600 marks)
- English (200M): Grammar, vocab, comprehension
- GK (400M): Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Current Affairs
CDS Syllabus
- English: Vocabulary, idioms, comprehension, sentence improvement
- GK: History, geography, polity, science, current affairs — UPSC preparation GA overlap
- Maths (CDS): Class 10 level — arithmetic, algebra, trigonometry, geometry (easier than NDA)
SSB Interview: 5-Day Process
- Day 1 — Screening: OIR + PPDT — 60% eliminated
- Day 2 — Psychology: TAT (12 stories), WAT (60 words), SRT (60 situations), Self Description
- Day 3–4 — GTO: Group tasks, obstacles, lecturette, command task
- Day 5 — Conference: Personal interview + board decision
SSB tests OLQs (Officer Like Qualities) — leadership, courage, teamwork। Coaching answers fail — genuine personality wins।
Officer Salary 2026
- Lieutenant (Entry): Level 10 | Basic ₹56,100 + MSP ₹15,500
- Gross: ₹75,000 – ₹95,000/month (DA 53% + HRA + allowances)
- Captain (3–6 yr): ₹95,000 – ₹1,15,000/month
- Major (6–13 yr): ₹1,15,000 – ₹1,40,000/month
- Colonel (15+ yr): ₹1,50,000 – ₹1,80,000+/month
